Maybe distraction isn’t the problem.

What is your weapon of mass distraction?

I know you have got one (we all do!)

Is it Netflix, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook?

Maybe it is your emails, You Tube, gaming or chatting on your phone.

How much time do you think you spend (or waste) each day?

I was recently horrified to find out that one of my sons spends a couple of hours on snapchat EVERY day!

That’s almost one whole day of his week on snapchat.

It is pretty easy to pinpoint how you might be frittering away your time,

And even easier to blame these distractions for halting or stalling progress on the more important things in life.

How can you possibly focus, with all the pings, beeps and rings.

And a lot of these products were designed to suck you in and get you hooked, right?

But perhaps there is another side of equation that you might not have considered.

Perhaps the things that ‘distract’ you aren’t the root of the problem.

Because something can only be a distraction if it is actually distracting you from something else.

However, unfortunately, most people don’t make it a priority to consider how they spend their time.

They get up, and get on with their day, reacting to whatever comes their way.

But, if you don’t get intentional with your time and think about how you would like to be making ‘traction’ in the things that matter,

The result could be that days, weeks, months, even years go by without you achieving and living the life you most want.

And that’s no good.

So what to do?

One of the best ways to fight distraction,

Is to figure out what is important to you,

And then intentionally block out time for it.

So have a think, where do you want to be making traction –

in your work life ,your home life ,your personal life and health.

This week I challenge you to make a list of where you would like to be making progress in each of these areas.

It will be so much easier to avoid distraction when you are excited and intentional about where you really want to be spending your time.

Are you looking to make some changes in your life? (business, health, wealth, relationships, self)

I know that things have been a little crazy the past year. And things can feel uncertain. But you still have goals and dreams right? That hasn’t changed. You still want to do things with your life.

And there is no good reason why you shouldn’t get on and do it. Actually, this is the PERFECT time.

So whatever your goals, wishes or hopes might be, I would love to help you make them a reality.
