If I were to tell you that there is a
Super effective way
To maximise your chances of starting a positive new habit,
Would you be interested?
I imagine the answer is a resounding YES,
Because as we all know trying to get a new habit going is pretty hard work.
Doesn’t matter what it is – whether you want to,
Drink more water,
Eat more vegetables,
Call your mother once a week,
Go for a daily walk,
Clean your kitchen before bed.
It is tricky to make new habits stick.
But I have a little hack that will make it so much easier.
Sounds weird I know, but if you immediately reward yourself after doing a new habit,
You start to re-wire your brain to want to do it more.
And a really easy way to reward yourself is with a mini, personal celebration.
It doesn’t matter what it is.
It could be a high five, a fist pump, waving your hands in the air.
Maybe you say YES! either out loud or in your head
Or it could be a WOO HOO, a wry smile or a full on victory dance.
Anything that works for you and feels good.
Me – I am a YES!!!Or hold my arms up in the air kind of person.
And I have been known to do the odd victory dance too
Make sure you do it right after the behaviour you want to reinforce to reap the rewards.
e.g. drink that glass of water and say “go me!
You might feel a little silly at first but do it – it will make you feel good.
And I promise you, those habits will start to become easier and easier.
