As an endurance runner, I run a lot.
Which can lead to some seriously tight hips and hamstrings if I am not careful.
And having tight, rigid muscles is never good.
It can lead to injury, lower back pain, loss of mobility.
It could limit the way I want to live.
So I do yoga every day to stretch it all out. (so good)
I have learned (the hard way) the importance of being supple.
It makes such a difference to feeling good in my body.
It means I can move, react, shift and change with ease.
Life works the same way.
If you are rigid you are less able to go with the flow.
Less able to see a fresh ideas.
Try new things, do things a new way.
Take advantage of opportunities in front of you
You are set.
Which doesn’t work because
Life is always changing.
To make the most of it, you need to be able to go with it.
You need to be able to move with the times.
You need to loosen up and get more flexible.
You want to be able to twist and turn, bend and weave.
You want to make the most of everything that comes your way.
You need to let go of the need for complete control.
You need to let go of having to be right all the time.
You need to let go of some of that baggage you are carrying along with you.
You need to be less attached to your stuff
And your plans.
These things keep you in one place, rigid.
And you want to be able to pivot.
So instead ….
Be willing to shift perspective
Be willing to let go
Be willing to alter course
Be willing to change
Life will get so much easier,
And become so much more fun and interesting.
